Eco Preservation Society will be partnering directly with MINAET, the Costa Rican Environment Ministry. A close relationship with this government entity will allow for a more efficient process during the different stages of this project, facilitating the necessary permissions and permits needed to carry out our work on government owned protected land. EPS will also develop relationships with individual private property owners as we begin to identify which lands are most valuable as sites for biological corridors once we leave the National Park area. In addition, Eco Preservation Society is in the process of cultivating positive relationships with conservation minded local businesses. We believe it is vital to involve the local business community in our conservation efforts. Local businesses here depend heavily on the local natural environment, and for that reason have a strong desire to see it conserved. Unfortunately, not all business owners feel the same level of commitment to be directly involved in this work. Through our partnerships we hope to show business owners the true value they gain from participating in our work, both financially and on a personal level. We are currently working with several large tourism projects who have expressed a genuine interest in making a difference. SINAC - System of Conservation AreasSINAC - System of Conservation Areas

Finally, we look forward to partnering with local people of all types, as well as the hundreds of thousands of tourists who arrive here each year. We plan on creating participatory and educational opportunities for local school children and tourists. As well, the work itself will be carried out with local labor, and we will provide opportunities for tourists to get their hands dirty too. Considering the local economy is so heavily dependent on tourism our program will give visitors the chance to connect personally with the local natural environment and its restoration, an important next step in today's conservation efforts.
